Technological solutions for the future

Bodø municipality, with its innovation lab Linken, is testing out new technological solutions and assessing their usefulness and benefits based on the municipality's current and future needs. They have conducted a demo of CTD Health to give nursing home and home care staff insight into how the tool can be used for quantity training on clinical observation and assessment skills (ABCDE and NEWS2). The feedback from the employees is that the training is relevant, exciting and of high professional quality. Below is feedback from those who have trained:

"Will make it easier to improve skills in the service. Training will be easier to do regularly and more often without affecting operations. SHOULD be implemented in the service. Great that scenarios can be adapted to the services."

"Seems like a great tool for raising competence. Many people don't dare to stand up in large groups on courses, this seems perfect for everyone to practice without having to stand in front of a group for "praise". I have faith in this technology going forward."

"This was very good, -and should always be available at the home service. Then you can get quantity training, -train at any time and you save a lot of resources..."

Organization of VR training

Good planning and anchoring has been one of the success factors for VR training in Bodø municipality. The super-users with supervisory responsibility for VR training have played a crucial role in the good training outcome. They received in-depth training from Connect the Dots before starting the coaching. In addition, the super users sent an email to department heads in the municipality explaining what CTD Health is and encouraging them to express an interest in trying it out.

Tested different forms of VR training

The super users tested different forms of VR training:

  • Attendance at the innovation lab (Linken)
  • Training in your own department:
  • Drop-in
  • Booking of training time

They report significantly greater participation when the training was carried out in the departments. They also say that the good information that was sent out in advance about VR training meant that employees talked among themselves about VR training and there was a great commitment to trying out the new way of learning. The departments agree with the super users that the best way to train is in their own department.
